Type of jewellery certification
IGI certification is provided for diamonds of 1 carat and above, while SGL certification is provided for diamonds below 1 carat.
What can be done if I lose my jewellery certificate?
A duplicate certificate can be arranged for you at a cost of INR 2,000–4,000, depending on the diamond weight. The product will need to be sent back to the laboratory for verification. The reissued certificate will carry a “Copy/Duplicate” watermark.
How can I identify if my product is authentic?
You can verify authenticity by checking the BIS hallmark, which includes a 6-digit HUID code engraved on the jewellery. Additionally, you can cross-check the report number mentioned on the diamond certificate on the respective laboratory’s official website.
Where can I find the BIS hallmarking on the product?
The BIS hallmark is engraved on the inside of the ring.
